Our committees are the engine of the chapter - the place where seasoned professionals and emerging leaders collaborate to share their expertise and turn our vision into action. Whether you are looking to sharpen your leadership skills or give back to the community, joining a committee is the most impactful way to get the most out of your membership while helping our chapter thrive. From standing operations to special initiatives, there is a seat for you at the table.

Standing Committees

Communication & Marketing

The Brand & Digital Team

The Megaphone: Manage the chapter’s external identity and digital infrastructure. (e.g., Maintain the chapter website and social media channels/campaigns; design the monthly newsletter; manage the national communication channel for branding alignment; photography and videography; information technology, etc.)

Rules & Bylaws

​The Strategy & Governance Bureau

The Architects & Navigators: Responsible for the structural integrity and long-term trajectory of the chapter. (e.g., bylaws; local rules; national audit readiness; strategic planning, etc.)

The Treasury & Revenue Council

The Engine: Secure and manage financial resources through fiscal oversight and revenue generation. (e.g., Drafting the annual budget; leading grant writing; donations and fundraising, etc.)

The Impact & Education Guild

The Curators: The professional development engine of the chapter. (e.g., Planning the Q1–Q4 event calendar; host leadership bootcamps; organize legislative & public policy forums; manage community service activities, nationals liaison, etc.)

​The Growth & Legacy Wing

The Heart & The Historians: Focus on recruitment, retention, and the preservation of institutional knowledge. (e.g., Onboarding new members; organizing the Legacy Council of Past Presidents; conducting member care check-ins; archiving milestones via the Historian, etc.).

Ad-Hoc Committees

Special Task Forces (​activates only for specific timeframes/as needed)

Nominations & Elections

The Talent Scouts

Activates approximately four (4) months before elections for succession planning. This committee is made up of past presidents that are not currently running for any office.

Audit & Compliance

The Audit Force

Activates for fiscal oversight and local or national audit compliance reviews (upon request or recurring cadence (e.g. annual, bi-annual, etc.)

Scholarships & Sponsorships

The Investment Council

Activates during the scholarship planning, posting, and application, and selection window to review and select candidates. Execute the due diligence and vetting of all applicants, ensuring fiscal integrity and alignment with the SPC mission. Three investment (scholarship/aid) tiers: (a) Scholastic - students pursing public service/public administration, (b) Professional – subsidies for registration for local or national activities (e.g. Forum, etc.), and (c) Member Access – members or interested members that demonstrate high potential in public service and active volunteerism within the organization, but face fiscal barriers. Scholarships and sponsorships. building the “Legacy” Pitch Deck for sponsors; managing the Scholarship Fund Task Force, etc.)
